If you have taken my Reiki Level I, II and Master course online you know that I start with one of my favorite quotes: “when the student is ready, the teacher appears”.
In my life, I find my “teachers” can appear when I am in one of two states. The first is when I am feeling like I have it all figured out, like I truly “get it”. This is when something happens to throw me out of balance and begin a new level of healing.
The second state I find my lessons visit me in is when I am in a valley, when I am feeling lost and helpless. When I finally reach the point where I surrender, understand I have no control and pray to be shown a better way of being.
My Masters are not always the highly resonant light-workers that we typically associate with personal and energetic growth. They come in the form of those close to me where there is a disconnect or a student or colleague who questions my way of being. In each person, whether there is resonance or friction – they are here to teach us.
In our lives, the amazing bits and the periods of suffering are there to teach us.
In all cases, once I truly surrender – the fall on my knees and open my heart to a new way surrender, the universe takes over and drives me smoothly to my new destination. Initially my ego may resist wanting to keep things the same, but change is the only constant and resistance is futile.
In my new place on my journey, the sun comes out again and I find comfort – entering the cycle again.
This is the adventure. Another quote I love is by Thomas F. Crum: “In an uncertain world instead of seeing the rug from being pulled from under us we learn to dance on a shifting carpet”.
When I feel things shifting I try to enjoy the magic carpet and learn, heal and grow from the experience.
With spring flowing, I feel the change flowing through as well. Do you? How do your lessons and Masters appear for you?
Big Reiki hug,
